A project entitled “Stone Labyrinth” will be unveiled as part of the PIEDRA 2010 festival. This project consists of an exhibition area where a framework of walls, all with different heights, will be built to create a labyrinth. The labyrinth’s corridors act as an access point to visitors.
These walls can hold different types of stone with different anchorage systems and will be of different heights – between 1 and 5 meters. They will be built from shortest to tallest to create a pleasing visual effect. 1 m x 0.5 m pieces will be used. Several companies specializing in anchorage systems have already shown interest in working on this project. These include: Edymon, Sucomaga, Masa, Eurogramco, Fachadas del Norte, Halfen Deha and Anclajes Grapamar.
IFEMA will provide a 500 square meter expositive area for the stone labyrinth and the FDP will coordinate the project’s construction and implementation.
Its promoters claim that this initiative is large enough in scale to generate media attention and act as a main attraction to the different groups of visitors at this year’s festival.
