Also coinciding with the celebration of the PIEDRA biennial edition, a series of meetings will be held by the “Natural Stone” European Committee for Standardization CEN/TC 246. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN), with headquarters in Brussels and whose members are EU and EFTA countries, is the organisation that is making the greatest advances in the standardisation of natural stone products.

Specifically, the CEN/TC 246 Technical Committee, directed by Italy, and in which Spanish experts participate, has sent CEN various projects of Standards to be submitted to the Public Information Sector among member countries. This meeting is important for the stone industry as it is the first time that the Plenary Session of the Standardization Committee –which usually takes place in the Italian city of Carrara- is being held in Madrid.
