The Poznań Stone Fair will present the exhibition “Stone and its relationship with advertising”.
Its purpose is to showcase the work of publishing houses and stone companies starting in the 1950s. The event intends to show the evolution of trends in presenting materials, spanning a period of four decades in the 20th century.
Another of the Kamien Fair’s featured activities is the presentation of the Sculpture Workshop where the work of artist Dr. Wit Pichurski is showcased. He sculpted the head of a woman in marble using traditional techniques. A graduate of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts (Poland), this sculptor currently offers lectures at the Art Institute of the University of Opole. In addition to teaching, Pichurski continues working with art in fields like sculpture, drawing and painting. His works were presented at numerous exhibitions worldwide.
Another of the artistic samples that will be displayed at the Kamien Stone Fair will be Waldemar Milek’s. He is an artist who learned mosaic techniques in Tunisia and Italy. He will exhibit an old mosaic style that will represent a fauna. This artist’s technique is inspired by the heritage of the ancient masters of Tunisia, Greece, Italy and the Middle East. His aim is to create unique works that blend perfectly with the surroundings. That is why this artist uses ancient mosaic assembly techniques, and he constantly experiments by seeking new solutions and applications: two-sided mosaics, transparent mosaics, mosaic and sculpture combinations or mosaics made from pieces of rock.
The aim of the program entitled “Live Mosaic Assembly Show” is to present the creative process that goes along with stone sculptures so that visitors can fully appreciate it for the fair’s entire duration. |
