The aim of “Marmomacc Meets Design” is to support in each edition of the exhibition a group of unique companies that are committed to following common standards in carrying out experimental and technical work.
The idea for the project created in 2007 by Mauro Albano and Bazzo Evelina de Veronafiere has the aim of offering a new perception in the use of lithic material. Following the first edition of the project, "Lightness of Marble", followed in 2008 by "Skin, texture", "Hybrid and flexible" in 2009, and "irregular-exceptional" in 2010. The challenge continues in 2011 under the heading "Mutable Spirit".
Each participating company looks for a designer willing to design a project for the occasion, while taking into account the characteristics of the company and the qualities of the materials proposed.
Designers are invited to take a new approach of lithic material, on the basis of using the experience in their everyday design practice. This means that the companies benefit from an international campaign with their firm in the spotlight and they have the challenge of competing in new areas of technology, production and market.
In the last five years, the focus has become increasingly specific, resulting in a comprehensive exhibition of projects that use innovation in three dimensions for stone surfaces. |
