The Kamien-Stone exhibition is considered a priority on the work schedule of the professionals of the industry.

In Poland as well as surrounding countries, the natural stone industry has a wealth of opportunities yet to be exploited, including the prosperous construction of public and private works that have sprung up in the past few years.

This translates into numerous public sector investments, concessions and privatizations of companies, building of new infrastructures and expansion of the road transportation network. Most of these works are related to the joint organization with Ukraine for the next Soccer EuroCup to be held in 2012.

Poland has 507 stone deposits for constructing buildings and roads, of which 203 are being exploited (40%). Out of the existing deposits, 44% has been used, 25% has been exploited, another 25% has begun to be used and 6% has already been completely exploited.

Stone resources in Poland are estimated at over 8,010 million tons. The stone used for constructing buildings and roads is one of the commonest raw materials in Poland.
