The Technological Centre for Marble and natural stone (CTM) has been involved in promoting “Stonesafety” a project at European level which has combating accident risks in the natural stone industry as it’s goal, which it seeks to achieve throough the creation of a new and innovative training method based on 3D technology, and which can be downloaded free from the website www.stonesafety.eu.
It is hoped that the CTM, together with its partners, will develop training materials which will become a reference for professional organisations throughout Europe, and will make a significant impression on health and safety courses in the natural stone industry across the EU. This Project, which has taken up the best part of two years, has looked at creating a report addressing the main risk situations in natural stone companies in the participating nations, as well as promoting application norms in risk prevention materials, and evaluating current situations for risk prevention via visits, questionnaires and consultations carried out in businesses, and creating a website. Finally it has produced a 3d training tool with diverse applications for the natural stone industry, especially in the production phase. |
